In March 2008, the child of Macy's and city of Chicago was born: the Chicago Fashion Incubator.

Officials teamed up to help provide local designers with a forum in fashion business, where six local designers were given an the opportunity to promote and enhance their clothing lines in a "Project Runway" meet "Real World" experience.

Six local designers have been chosen for the inaugural year of 'The Chicago Fashion Incubator' (CFI) at Macy's on State Street.

The designers will be given the opportunity to learn the economics, marketing and merchandising of fashion from industry experts as well as mentors from Macy's and the broader fashion community.

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in fashion design from the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago in 2006, the Orland Park native has been freelancing and building her eco-friendly line, organiK Revolution.
